Migration Management

Through the Migration Management Department, IOM works on developing policy guidance for use in the field; formulating global strategies; setting standards and quality control; knowledge management in relation to mainstreaming migration sectors, including labor and facilitated migration, migration and development, counter-trafficking, assisted voluntary return, migration and health, assistance to vulnerable migrants, immigration and border management, as well as global capacity building in migration management. 

It is also responsible for managing the IOM Development Fund. This department is responsible for the evaluation, approval and management of multi-regional and global projects. It is also responsible for the technical supervision of experts in the Field Offices in the evaluation and approval of projects. In addition, it is responsible for operational relations with relevant governmental, multilateral, private sector and industry partners, in coordination with the International Cooperation and Partnerships Department. 

The IOM Regional Office for the Americas supports migration management through a wide range of programs and activities.
